David Liu: Missing hiker found dead in Lynn Creek
The North Vancouver RCMP has confirmed the identity of the body found in Lynn Creek on January 03, 2014, as that of 43 year-old Hai Tao (David) Liu of White Rock.
David Liu had been reported missing by his family on December 12, 2013.
The North Vancouver RCMP announced that a dead body was found in Lynn Creek yesterday.
The body found in Lynn Creek was then turned over to the BC Coroner's Office, which began the process of identifying the body so that next of kin can be notified.
Another hiker had discovered Liu's body just south of Twin Falls, which is near the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge. The body was then recovered by the RCMP Aerial Extraction team.
The investigation is now in the hands of the BC Coroner's Office.
RCMP Media Relations Officer Cpl. Richard De Jong would not comment beyond what he had already written via Twitter.
