Jan 1st, 2011

Where were you New Year's Eve 2010? We celebrated at The Cultch's burlesque show. Then, off to a dance party at the Waldorf, where we caught up with a certain city councillor.

In another part of the city, our own Morris Chapdelaine, rung in the New Year at Club 560 and Oasis Lounge.

This post will be updated throughout the day with more photos from our contributors' wild and wacky adventures. Stay tuned for VO's write-up of the night.  And, from all of the VO staff and team, we wish you the best year ever in 2011!

Last winter, Vancouver played host to the Olympic games. The experience, both the good and the bad, will be etched on the heart of the city for years to come.

They sacrificed their bodies and their souls

For speech, expression, religion and love

A better life!

Not for glory or glorious monuments

So their loved ones wouldn’t have to

Free to be

Their hope is ours

Lest we forget!

Walking around Stanley Park on a grey day. The sulfur pile seems to stand out even more on such a monochromatic background.

I have always loved the ceiling of the domestic terminal at the Vancouver airport. It's always better to look up than at the waiting line. By 2010, YVR is expected to top 20 million passengers annually, ranking in the top 50 airports in the world by passenger traffic.
