Peter Benson cast in 'One Angry Juror', starring Jessica Capshaw of 'Grey's Anatomy'
Actor Peter Benson has just been cast in the upcoming television movie ‘One Angry Juror’, starring Jessica Capshaw (Grey’s Anatomy). Based on a true story, the film follows an aggressive corporate attorney, Sarah (Capshaw), who gets an unexpected call to jury duty for the trial of Walter Byrd, who is accused of murder. Peter plays Eric in the film, an attorney like Sarah, and a member of the jury deciding the fate of Walter Byrd. Directed by Paul A. Kaufman, produced by Harvey Kahn, with Executive Producers Craig Baumgarten and Adam Merims, the film is currently in production in Vancouver.
Most recently, Peter was nominated for a 2010 Leo Award in the Best Performance by a Male in a Short Drama category, for his portrayal of the title role in ‘Scott’s Land’. Peter not only starred in the movie, but also wrote, produced and directed the comedy with co-star Benjamin Ayres.

This isn’t the first time one of Peter’s performances has received critical acclaim: He was the winner of the Golden Sheaf Award for Best Actor in a Short Film for the movie ‘Pits’, also starring Alan Cumming.
Peter has been continuously adding versatile film and television roles to his acting repertoire, since he discovered his passion for performance. His television credits include recurring roles on both ‘Psych’ and ‘The L Word’, as well as on the critically acclaimed CBC series ‘jPod’. His other small screen credits include roles on ‘Stargate’, ‘Smallville’, ‘Supernatural’, ‘Masters of Horror’ and ‘Reaper’.
Peter’s list of film credits is just as notable. It includes a supporting lead role in the MOW ‘Trophy Wife’, starring Brooke Burns, a lead role in the ‘The Break-Up Artist’ starring Amanda Crew, and the role of Marty Mecklen in ‘Smokin’ Aces 2’. Next up for the busy actor is a lead role in the upcoming Canadian comedy ‘The Wingman’, due out later this year. The hilarious comic romp has Peter playing Jack, a lovably manipulative womanizer who cons an innocent guy into being his wingman so they can pick up girls.
When Peter isn’t busy working on a project, he and his wife, fellow actor Julia Benson, enjoy hiking with their chocolate labrador, Bauer. A sports enthusiast, Peter is an avid Canucks fan. He also enjoys writing and working on scripts.
