Island Timberlands has failed to meet the Cortes community demands and now people are gathering to protect the forest from the logging planned for September.

Logging of pristine BC island forest to begin in January by Brookfield Asset Management
Brookfield Asset Management owns Island Timberlands, which plans to start logging on Cortes Island this January, according to Wayne French, Operations Planner for IT.
