Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) kicked off with an opening gala party last night while outside unions carried on with protests. In the crowd were Jeen Sung from the Queer Film Festival and musician Michael Rush, director of Waking the Green Tiger Gary Marcuse, Mayor Gregor Robertson, designers of the Film Guide and Ticketing of VIFF Arne Herman and David Pirrie, director of Patang the Kite, Prashant Bhargava, actress Sharon Taylor and more.
