The Pentagon evacuates following a 6.0 magnitude earthquake

The Pentagon and U.S. Capitol building have been evacuated following a  6.0 magnitude earthquake that originated in Mineral, Virginia this morning.

Tweets from Huffington Post Publisher, Ariana Huffington, journalist Jeremy Scahill and Reuters all confirm the quake.

Scahill, who is currently at his home in Brooklyn, NY tweeted, "about a minute after i heard from friends in DC there was a quake, my building in Brooklyn started swaying."

The distance between the Pentagon and New York City is 333.5km.
