Gerard Depardieu's worst role

French actor Gerard Depardieu urinates on airplane floor.

Gerard Depardieu is playing a starring role today in a production with no director. The acclaimed French superstar grabbed the international spotlight after he urinated on the carpet of  an Air France plane fifteen minutes before take off.  Perhaps Depardieu had drunk too much. Perhaps...well, no other explanations have been put forth, other than that he really had to go, so tried to relieve himself in a bottle.  It may be the most vivid example of entitlement since Marie Antoinette said, "Let them eat cake." Passengers on the flight watched in horror, witnesses said, as the icon took unexpected liberties.  Air France personel turned the plane around and escorted the beloved French actor off.  No charges will be brought.

Gerard Depardieu is best known outside of France for his Oscar-winning performance in the title role of Cyrano de Bergerac.  In France, however, Depardieu is perhaps the best-known actor and one of the most frequently seen on screen. He has acted in more than 100 films, including Hollywood productions such as Green Card and Les Miserables.

Born in 1948 Depardieu was the youngest of six children. He began his acting career at 16, after leaving school at 13 and spending much of his time on the streets.  His mother told him she had tried to abort him with knitting needles, and Depardieu, legend has it, used to inspect his hands for signs of wounds from the needles.

Recently, Depardieu has played Obelix in the movies based on the French comic book series, Asterix  by Rene Goscinny and Albert Uderzo.  He was on his way to Dublin to film for the movie when the incident occurred.
