Six injured in Queen of Nanaimo ferry crash this morning

Queen of Nanaimo (BC Ferries)

The Queen of Nanaimo ferry crashed into the dock at Mayne Island, BC at approximately 8 AM this morning. The accident and damage incurred could be seen from the foot passenger area on land, as witnessed by reporter Chris Shaw.

The crash caused a large amount of damage to the ferry, especially the area that came into contact with the dock. Six were reported injured. A possible cause for the accident has been linked to the ferry losing reverse power. Although the anchor was used, The Queen of Nanaimo was not able to prevent the collision. The incident is still undergoing investigation.
