The Olympic Torch relay is underway. Day 6 begins this morning, November 3rd, where Kevin Mendelsohn will light the cauldron at the community centre in Dawson City. Mendelsohn is a Dawson-born resident known for his volunteer work with the Fire and Ambulence departments.

The flame will then continue on to Inuvik and Chief Jim Koe Park where the community has planned both indoor and outdoor activities to commemorate. The celebrations in between will include refreshments and music at the community centre during the torch's stop in Old Crow as well.
