The Power Smart Village
Located downtown at Homer and Dunsmuir, the BC Hydro Power Smart Village is being heralded as the unofficial sustainability hub of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Open daily at 10 AM, the Power Smart Village showcases a variety of interactive displays centered around the idea of a sustainable future for Canadians. Walking through the Village built in the plaza in front of the BC Hydro Downtown office, participants have options for different activities.
During the day, people can be seen doing everything from lounging in the wooden adirondack chairs watching Olympic highlights on an energy efficient flat screen in the Power Smart Theatre to busting a move on the sustainable dance floor of Club Energy. The more you dance, the more the floor lights up.
In addition to these features, there is also a Home of a Future exhibit displaying all sorts of sustainable ideas and products for your future home as well as an Expression Wall where participants can leave their digital mark with an infrared pen. People stopping by can view the Salish Welcome figures carved by BC Hydro employee, George Hemeo while making use of the free wifi available.

Contest deadline is Monday, Feb 22nd.
