One week left for a chance for a free Tofino adventure, compliments of Ocean Village Resort

Our hut stood just steps from the sand. The sound of the sea and the call of the birds were all we could hear. Sunset is a beauty to behold, and Ocean Village has the best seats in the house. The sun dropped low to the treetops of the Sitka forest, red on black against a purple sky. The cool thing is that you have a chance this month to win a two-night free getaway to Ocean Village Resort, for two people simply by entering here. Or, you can book now, and receive a free surfboard rental with any three-night stay here.

The road leading to Tofino is punctuated by narrow turnoffs, and they’re easy to miss. Visors up, we glimpsed the Ocean Village turnoff and guided our bikes down a narrow gravel path. Rounding a bend, we beheld a gentle grassy slope descending to a secluded beach. Beautiful little huts dotted the hillside. Steep, narrow roofs, doors opening out towards the beach. The sun disappeared with a flash, it happened so quickly, before I could raise my wine glass to toast the ending of the day. Night fell, and soon all we could see was black sky and the shadowy shapes of trees. All we could hear was the ebb and flow of the tide as the Pacific Ocean reached Tofino.

Mysterious and calm, I couldn’t tell if the sounds of the waves matched my breathing, or the other way around. Some of our cabin-neighbours were heading into town, which was only a few minutes’ drive away. We had no intention of leaving, though. We had a barbecue and provisions to cook. A bottle of wine and glasses from which to sip. All was right with the world.

Once again, enter for a chance to win a two-night getaway to Ocean Village Resort, for two people here. Or book now, and receive a free surfboard rental with any three-night stay here.  Cozy, romantic, and wonderful for kids, it's a superb British Columbia getaway.
