Tourism Tofino launched a multi-faceted campaign today celebrating the rise in popularity of surfing for all age groups, as well as Tofino’s reputation as Canada’s “surfing capital.”

The Tourism Tofino “Get Your Surf On” campaign includes:

Throughout October:

  • A “4-for-3” special on surfing lessons and equipment rentals at 10 of Tofino’s surf schools and shops, as well as for travel on Tofino Bus. “Bring Your Fourth” advertisements encouraging group travel began appearing in regional media outlets in September.

 October 15 – 16:

  • Street-side surf-themed activities and giveaways featuring Tourism Tofino’s new surfing mascot “Sandy” and the mobile information centre “Chestervan” at Robson Square in downtown Vancouver in partnership with celebrated food purveyor, Tacofino. 250 coupons for fish tacos will be given out.

  •  “Tofino Tuesday” October 15, 5:00 pm – 9:00pm at the Tacofino Commissary, 2327 East Hastings Street, Vancouver, with food and drink specials featuring Tofino’s own Tofino Brewing Company.

“There’s really no better place in the world than Tofino to learn to surf or simply immerse yourself in surfing culture,” said Kirsten Soder, general manager of Tourism Tofino. “Our ‘Get Your Surf On’ campaign gives everyone the chance to see what surfing is all about — whether they’re catching a wave or watching from a cozy indoor fireside perch.

"Experienced and beginner surfers can also take advantage of our 4-for-3 offers to travel cost effectively, and share the whole road trip experience with friends and family.”
