Hi I'm Lindsey and this is your weekly news update from OpenMedia.ca.

We just had our most successful launch ever as our newest study, Time for an Upgrade: Demanding Choice in Canada's Cell Phone Market, made a splash in the media and was sent to key decision-makers by thousands of you.

Thanks to all of you who took the time to inform Time for an Upgrade or to share it around, the study—and through it your stories and the recommendations the came from them—received coverage across the country through radio, print, the Internet (of course), and multiple national news outlets.

This is key. Getting this kind of coverage helps us with two of the main goals we have here at OpenMedia.ca: it helps us reach more people and engage more citizens in issues that will affect our digital future, and it helps us put our community-powered recommendations in front of key policymakers.

As supporter Jason Gambacort commented on our Facebook page, "Canadians watching this, with a small exception of the those sympathetic to the big three, will for sure see just how broken the cell phone market is in Canada."

In short, this study has had an amazing impact already, and it's all because of you sharing your experiences in order to bring about change. Thank you for all your work showing just how badly Canada’s cell phone market truly needs an upgrade.
