Who are the hottest Bollywood stars?

Who's the hottest star in Bollywood? VO took to the incense-scented streets of the Punjabi Market (aka Little India) on Main Street to find out.

"It's Hrithik Roshan in downtown," Manpreet Sekhu said.

Downtown, Vancouver?

"He came for a film shooting."

Sekhu did not know where in downtown or what movie.

"Hrithik Roshan is a Bollywood star and he's made a lot of action movies. Best in the industry. Best body. Best-looking. He's a good dancer," said Mumbai-native Jyoti Nijjar.

"Shahid Kapoor is a very good dancer, too. John Abraham has a good body. He's a good actor as well."
"Roshan is awesome. Very good looking. Very fit. Amazing actor," agreed Angelie, who works in a shop across the street.

She then added John Abraham and Ranbir Kapoor to the Bollywood stud list.

"John Abraham has a hot body," Angelie laughed.

Two East Indian girls in Nurmahal Fashions store could not comment, saying: "We're really whitewashed. You'll have to ask someone more Indian."

"A movie was filmed here," said Arora Cloth House's Pawan Arora. She said that it was filmed "a long time ago" when her shop was across the street. Their sales went up, but now they're less than half as the time of the movie. She says that Sharhu and Salman Khan are "quite famous." And that rent is expensive.

Reena Dhingra of Nurmahal Fashions & Fabrics Ltd. says Shahid Kapoor and Shahrukh Khan (known among fans as SRK) are the hottest.

"Akshay Kumar," said another. And just like Dhingra, she picked Shahrukh Khan.

"He's the biggest. He's the king. He's called King Khan."

Paul Shukla from Bombay Market decided to give VO a gift: two top films.

First film he offered was Blue, starring Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Lara Dutta, Zayed Khan, Rahul Dev, and special appearances Katrina Kaif and Kylie Minogue. At the back of the DVD, Times of India called the movie "fresh" and "fulsome."

Second flick was Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (Happiness & Tears), starring Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Kajol, Kareena Kapoor.

"Very top stuff," assured Shukla.

RAJA Cinema had Ready printed on all its posters.
The movie just hit the theatre yesterday.  It stars Salman Khan, Asin and Paresh Rawal.

And who do the cinema staff think is the hottest Bollywood star?
"I hardly watch the films," admitted one hard working sales associate.

A filmgoer, though, was willing to dish about his favorite. "They call him Big B, but his name is Amitabh Bachchan. He's been in the business for a long, long time," he said.

But what about Hrithik?

"Hrithik Roshan is very handsome, you know, young. This Bachchan guy is 65 probably now."

"Ash (Aishwarya) Rai is the most beautiful girl in the world. She's worked in Hollywood, as well. She's the daughter-in-law of this guy Bachchan," he continued.

"She was the beauty queen in 1994 world peagant. Most beautiful woman in the world, they called her. She was on this Letterman Show, all those places. She lives in Bombay."
