The Art of Marketing: Arianna Huffington, Scooter Braun, Jonah Berger, and more...
Renowned thought leaders come to Vancouver to share words of wisdom.
Marketing: every company needs it, and everyone thinks they're an expert at it.
Whether you coin yourself an expert, or you consider yourself a novice, there is always room to learn from those who have proven to be successful in the industry.
Individuals such as Arianna Huffington, who was named #12 in Forbes' first-ever list of the Most Influential Women In Media, and who has an estimated net worth of $35 million. As the co-founder of The Huffington Post, and as a recognized political leader, she has established herself as an independent and determined woman. I certainly could learn a thing or two from her. Couldn't you?
Or individuals like Scooter Braun, who has made his mark in a completely different way, as the talent manager and marketing whiz in the entertainment industry. His claim to fame stems from his work planning after-parties for Eminem and Ludacris, organizing NBA All-Star Soirees, and, more recently, from ultimately bringing 12-year-old Justin Bieber to where he is today.
These two spectacular individuals, as well as Jonah Berger, Eric Ryan, John Gerzema, and Tom Fishburne will be coming to Vancouver to share their words of wisdom at The Art of Marketing. This day-long event focuses on the progression of marketing, by professionals working in the industry.
Gone are the days of targeting markets in a conventional method; to stay afloat, one must adapt their skills and toolkit to match an industry that now involves much more than the standard "Marketing Mix" (product, price, promotion, place). This event is set up to take you beyond those 4 P's and open your eyes to the ever-evolving industry, to keep you one step ahead of the competition. With this incredible line-up of internationally renowned thought leaders and authors, this unique experience may bestow on you an inspired demeanour and a revised game plan. But you never know until you check it out.
While this is an informative event, it is also a networking event, bringing together over 1,200 marketing professionals from a myriad of industries. So, bring your business cards, a paper and pen, and an open mind, and you'll reap all of the benefits.
I have been working in marketing for a mere five years and always strive to surround myself with those who are at a senior level to me, learning from them constantly, and occasionally teaching them a thing or two. I imagine myself walking away from this particular event with notebooks full of tips and tricks, a ton of new Twitter followers, and a slew of new "friends", who happen to be in the same field that I'm in. Optimistic? Maybe. Idealistic? Definitely.
