Ode to Grimes, Vancouver, BC's international sensation: congrats on the Juno!

Grimes. Her long, matted coils of hair dance in the night sky, as she freely moves to the calming, mysterious music, like a flame. The car's headlights come into view. She turns her back to the vehicle, in her black dress, open-finger gloves and platform shoes, flinging her arms in front—and above—her winding body, twisting and turning. Expressionless. 
Sunset. She points her hands to the approaching wheels, as if she's about to perform makankousappou. Nothing happens. She throws her hair out of the way. Kneels down. Continues to bend her arms in waves.
The intro to Vancouver-native Grimes' 'Genesis' music video, one of the songs featured on her addictive third album 'Visions', fits well with who Grimes is: spontaneous, random, hypnotic, awesome. The album was recognized with a Juno award, claiming electronic album of the year, at the prestigious Canadian music awards, hosted by Burnaby-born artist Michael Bublé, last night.
Mission, B.C. singer Carly Rae Jepsen, "weekend’s premiere nominee with a five-category haul", took pop album of the year, according to The StarPhoenix, finally walking away with three of the five awards for which she was nominated.
