VO monthly member Terri Taylor scored free tickets to see Good Noise Gospel Choir perform over the weekend as part of the Affordable Vancouver series, and she was kind enough to share a few photos and impressions with us.

Terri says, "The concert was divinely delicious! It was a beautiful afternoon to be surrounded by the uplifting voices of the Good Noise Choir, accompanied by the equally talented musicians."

The band consisted of Elliot Polsky on drums, Ingrid Stitt on sax, Laurence Mollerup on bass, and Mike Kalanj on Hammond organ.

Taylor tells us, "The Christ Church Cathedral is a relatively intimate setting and I felt like we had been invited inside [Artistic Director] Gail Suderman's living room as she welcomed us and shared bits of history about the songs and gospel music and then let her wondrous voice sing out, as she played the piano and conducted the choir at the same time!  I loved every minute of it.  Audience participation was not only permitted it was encouraged and towards the end I even spied several people dancing in the aisles."
