Charges laid in Vancouver stabbing death

Accused is a 22-year-old man with a criminal record in Ontario. 

Charges have been laid in the stabbing death that rattled Vancouver last weekend.

The Canadian Press has the story:

VANCOUVER -- A 22-year-old man with a criminal record in Ontario has been charged with murder in a stabbing death in Vancouver on the weekend.

Shane Frederick James Yukich is accused of killing 24-year-old Joshua Jonathan Tanasiuk of Burnaby.

The victim was stabbed to death early Saturday morning in a car.

Vancouver police haven't said what motivated the attack, which was the city's 11th homicide this year.

Yukich is known to police in Metro Vancouver and in Ontario for violence and property-related offences.
