VPD issue public warning following sexual assault

Vancouver Police are warning the public after a woman was tackled to the ground and sexually assaulted last night.

Here's more, from the press release sent to Vancouver Observer by the Vancouver Police Department:

At approximately 7:30 p.m. on January 5th, a 30-year-old woman was walking southbound on Burrard Street near Davie when she was pushed to the ground and sexually assaulted. The woman defended herself by biting her attacker, causing him to release his hold and run away, eastbound on Davie Street towards Granville.
 
The suspect is an Asian man in his 30s, 5’4” tall, with a slender build and short black hair. He was wearing a dark shirt, light-coloured jeans, and was carrying a bright yellow backpack.
 
Anyone with information about this attack, or who may know the identity of this suspect, is asked to call the Vancouver Police Sex Crimes Unit at (604) 717-0602 or Crime Stoppers at 1-(800) 222 8477.
