Lucky One: Jay-Z and Beyoncé Knowles welcome first child

Screen cap taken from grazia.fr

After Beyoncé Knowles' post-performance belly rub at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards back in late August, the whole world seemed to have kept tabs on the mom-to-be. Suddenly, it was as though the whole world was expecting -- expecting power singer and Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter's baby, that is. And speculations as to whether their first child would be boy or a girl looked to be growing as fast as Knowles' belly.

The couple welcomed daughter Blue Ivy Carter on Saturday night, January 7 in New York at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital by C-section, according to MTV.

"Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih," Rihanna tweeted.

Blue Ivy must most certainly be the "Best Thing [The Two Ever] Had."

What do you think of Blue Ivy Carter as a name?
