Julianna Margulies wins Emmy, loses on fashion

Some said that her Armani Prive gown looked like a Snoop Dogg goblet or a non-slip shower mat while others compared it to Soviet Soyuz space capsule.

Julianna Margulies got her first Emmy for Lead Actress in a drama series, "The Good Wife," at the Jane Lynch-hosted 63rd Emmy Awards Sunday night, but, unfortunately, the dress she claimed to have choosen only the night before, didn't win on the red carpet.

"Julianna Margulies looked great in that remodeled Soviet Soyuz space capsule. I don't know fashion, but I do know science," David Avallone wrote on Twitter.

"I knew I'd seen Julianna Margulies' dress before somewhere," Mo Ryan said, linking to the image below:

Hailing from the sci-fi realm? Margulies' infamous dress

"Julianna Margulies' dress looks more like interior decoration than couture. But she looks beautifully assembled, in an Ikea way," Heidi N. Moore added.

But all was soon forgotten -- or maybe just forgiven -- when the fans took into account the fact that she did go home with an award. And her hair and make-up looked good, didn't it?

Of course, she wasn't to stand alone in the loser fashion category. Heidi Klum's Christian Siriano gown was also singled out on US Weekly's worst dressed list: "Heidi Klum might be a judge on Project Runway, but that didn't make her immune to a fashion fail," US Weekly jabbed.

Among the best-dressed were Kate Winslet, who also won for her role in the HBO mini-series Mildred Pierce, and Christina Hendricks, who wore a beautiful vintage-style heavy silk satin gown.
