Prince William and Kate Middleton brought their star power to Canada Day in Ottawa, and let it shine, shine, shine. On their second day in the country, William and Kate met with crowds of adoring fans and an equally adoring Prime Minister.

“Bonne fête Canada. Happy birthday Canada,” William told the crowd of 300,000 who had gathered on Parliament Hill, spilling into side streets.

It was the largest Canada Day crowd ever, according to Prime Minister Stephen Harper. He attributed this to the celebrity of the newlyweds.
