Whitney Houston to cleanse herself of drugs and alcohol

Whitney Houston has entered rehab.

"She's cleansing herself to get ready for a new movie," a source told TMZ.

Actress Angela Bassett revealed earlier today that she is to work with Whitney Houston on a sequel to 1995's Waiting to Exhale.

Or maybe she just wants to get better?

Kristen Foster, her rep, says Houston entered the program voluntarily. The 47-year-old superstar, who is no stranger to substance abuse, entered an out-patient rehab program some 10 days ago.

"Whitney Houston is currently in an out-patient rehab program for drug and alcohol treatment," Foster confirmed to People.com.

Houston first cracked the secret in 2009 to Oprah Winfrey, admitting to being a cocaine addict and that her and her ex-husband Bobby Brown's drug use got out of control after she starred in a romantic thriller 'The Bodyguard in 1992.

"Me and Bobby were lacing our marijuana with base. We would buy a kilo. We were not pipe smoking," Houston confessed.

"You roll it up and you smoke it in your weed. It's almost like heroin cocaine speedballs but you level it off with marijuana."

However, "just last weekend, Houston was enjoying herself at a Prince concert in L.A. with her daughter right by her side," reports TMZ. Apparently, she is allowed to go out in public as long as she has a monitor.

But wait, Houston. We have a problem...

Now Bobbi Kristina, Houston's daughter, is following in her footsteps and not in a good way:

"Just last month, Bobbi was reportedly charged as 'a minor in possession of alcohol' after a incident involving her group of friends," reports Celebrity Gossip.

"Whitney's 18-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, has found herself in another round of legal troubles – this time with both alcohol and guns."

Earlier this year, Bobbi's ex-boyfriend accused her of being a cocaine addict. Bobbi denied the claims.
