Lady Gaga meets Marie Antoinette with fashion, music, and art at EVOLUTION

Put on your dancing shoes and share the love this Valentine's Day weekend by supporting a great cause. Fashion, art, and music clash in tomorrow night's celebration of creativity and the arts at Performance Works on Granville Island.

Held Saturday February 12th at 8:00pm, the EVOLUTION Fashion | Music | Vogue Ball promises to be an outlandish, romantic and glamorous gala fundraiser for the benefit of A Loving Spoonful, one of Vancouver's nearest and dearest charities.

"There will be four fashion shows from Dita Von Teese's corsetiére Melanie Talkington of Lace Embrace, and eco-chic wedding gown designer Patty Nayel of Pure Magnolia. James Serino will be debuting his collection Electric La-La-Land and Art Institute students will showcase haute couture inspired gowns," says Kei Baritugo of BoldLove Communications. She, along with dance and choreography extraordinaire Jojo Zolina, are co-producing this event with renowned fashion journalist, Guy Babineau.

"The theme of our party is very loud, colourful, and flamboyant because we want to celebrate diversity and creative expression. We encourage our guests to wear the most outrageous outfits they can think of," says Zolina.

"Our guests can expect all night dancing with DJs Riot, U-Tern, and Jef Lepard. We are also very excited to have our friends Eric Solomon and Tito Deville of MTV's Youth Electric perform live. This event is going to be bananas," Zolina said.

Eric Solomon is one of three rockstar hopefuls on MTV's Youth Electric.

Featuring a vogueing competition (defined as a highly stylized modern dance characterized by photo model-like poses integrated with angular and linear movements), stand up comedy from Riel Hahn, and hosted by drag queen extraordinaire Isolde N. Barron, this evening will be sure to stimulate.

Major sponsors for the event are Natural Home Balance Builders, Park Place Property Services Ltd, and the Art Institute. Winery Jackson-Triggs and the Granville Island Brewery have also sponsored to ensure that guests will not leave thirsty. The first 150 attendees even get a gift bag with their ticket purchase.

Tickets are available for $40.00 and include a complimentary drink and coat check. Tickets can be found online at http://evolution2011.eventbrite.com or bought in person at Lace Embrace, Pure Magnolia, The Art Institute or A Loving Spoonful.
