Cyclist dies in collision with bus on Stanley Park Causeway

A cyclist has died on the Stanley Park Causeway and collision experts with the Vancouver Police are investigating the cause.

Shortly before 7:00 p.m. a woman riding on the sidewalk into Vancouver fell into traffic and was struck by a West Vancouver Transit bus.

It is early in the investigation and investigators will be speaking with witnesses and reviewing video to determine what occurred prior to the woman falling onto the roadway.

The woman died at the scene and has not been positively identified.

Police are speaking with the driver and other witnesses, but are asking passengers on the bus that left the scene before speaking with officers to call the VPD Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-3012.

The Lions Gate Bridge is expected to remain closed for several hours.
