Thuy Yen "Jenny" Vu shot and killed in front of toddler

The Vancouver Police have identified the victim of the city’s 14 homicide of 2011 as being 38-year-old Thuy Yen “Jenny” Vu of Vancouver. Vu's three-year-old son was in the back seat during the shooting and was unharmed. 

 

Shortly after 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Vu was shot while sitting inside her parked car in the 6400 block   Bruce Street . She was not previously known to police.

There have been no arrests so far, and detectives from the VPD Homicide Squad are continuing to interview witnesses to obtain a possible suspect description and have not yet determined a motive for the shooting.

It is the second shooting incident in less than 24 hours in Vancouver. 

People who witnessed the shooting and has not yet spoken with investigators or anyone who has pertinent information are asked to contact the Vancouver Police Homicide Unit at 604-717-2500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
