One person dead in West Vancouver apartment fire

 

West Vancouver police and fire officials are investigating a fatal apartment blaze Tuesday that broke out early in the morning int he 1400 block of Ducess Avenue.

According to the West Vancouver Police Department, at about 2:15 a.m., a call for help was received from fire and rescue crews battling the blaze. The fire was contained to a portion of one suite, and someone had been found dead in the fire. 

The B.C. Coroner's Service has been advised but police aren't classifying the fire as suspicious, they say. Its cause is still being investigated. 

Police ask anyone with information that could assist the joint West Vancouver Fire and Police investigation to phone 604-925-7300.
