Woman's dead body found on sidewalk in front of Regis Hotel

 A woman's body was discovered on the sidewalk in front of the Regent Hotel on the 100 block of East Hastings last night, the Vancouver Police Department reports. The women fell from a window on the sixth floor, VPD's Major Crime Section investigators determined, after responding to a call from 9-11 reporting the discovery of the corpse.

Officers have secured a suite on the 6th floor of the hotel where it is believed the woman many have been shortly before her death. A man residing in the suite is being interviewed, along with a number of witnesses.

Police have not yet released the identity of the deceased woman.

"This is a tragic loss of life and our investigators are working hard tonight to determine the circumstances that led up to her death,"  Constable Jana McGuinness said.
