Burnaby man murdered in car on Victoria Drive

A 24 year old Burnaby man was allegedly stabbed by another passenger inside a vehicle in the 1300 block of Victoria Drive around 12:30 a.m. this morning.

The driver, fearing for his safety, stopped the vehicle and ran away. People who had been nearby found the critically injured man inside the car and called 9-1-1.

Police found the victim clinging to life inside the car, and the suspect nowhere to be found. The victim died at the hospital around 1 p.m. this afternoon.

Police have not determined the motivation for the stabbing.

A team of VPD homicide investigators are searching for the suspect, polic report.
