Coquitlam man stabbed by woman in DTES

 A 45 year old Vancouver woman is in custody and a 20 year old Port Coquitlam man has been released from hospital and is recovering after an early morning stabbing in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.

Shortly after 3:30 a.m. this morning Vancouver Police responded to a call of a stabbing in the 200 block East Hastings Street. Officers arrived and found a 20 year old Port Coquitlam man was stabbed once in the back.

An area search was done for the suspect and she was discovered nearby trying to change her clothing. A 45 year old Vancouver woman was arrested and is in custody facing possible assault and weapons-related charges. The motive behind the stabbing remains unknown.

The victim was taken to hospital and has since been released after getting some stitches.
