Child hostage back home

The three year old boy injured during a dramatic hostage taking overnight is back home with his family after undergoing surgery to repair a five-inch laceration to his left cheek. The alleged hostage taker, a 24 year old man of no fixed address, is now in the Vancouver Police jail facing numerous charges in connection with the incident.

The young child was transported home with his family early this morning following treatment at Children's Hospital to repair a severe laceration he allegedly suffered while being held hostage by a man armed with a knife, in the downstairs washroom at the Ray-Cam Community Center.
The name of the accused will not be released until charges are approved. The family involved in the ordeal has requested privacy.
