Vancouver Police Department officer struck by car

Vancouver Police are confirming that a 13 year member of the force was struck by a car earlier this evening near Blundell Rd. and Highway 99 while conducting traffic enforcement in the area. The member, who is currently seconded to the Integrated Road Safety Unit, was taken to hospital for treatment of soft tissue injuries and bruising but he is expected to be ok.

The Integrated Lower Mainland Traffic Services, Deas island Freeway Patrol and ICARS are investigating.
