Sexual assault near Kingsway 7-11

The Vancouver Police Department is advising the public of a sexual assault that occurred around 3:30 a.m. on May 5th, involving a 34 year old woman.

The woman was approached by a man while she was in front of the 7-11 at Kingsway Avenue and Joyce Street. He convinced her to follow him to a nearby alcove where he sexually assaulted and threatened her with a knife. She then fled and was able to seek help.

The suspect is described as being an Asian man between 20 and 30 years old, of average build, 5’6” to 5’8” tall, with short straight black hair and a thin mustache. He was wearing jeans, a white or grey hoodie, and high-top runners with a baseball cap.
