Police Request Public Assistance in Locating Man Wanted Across Canada

Ottawa Police have asked for the VPD’s assistance in locating a man wanted Canada-wide for breach of conditions in relation to the Mental Health Act.

Mehmet Sekil Gunel, age 39, is believed to be in the Vancouver or Victoria area.  He is of Middle Eastern descent, about 5’10” tall, with a heavier build and has dark-coloured hair and eyes.

The public is asked to call 911 or their local police immediately if Mr. Gunel is spotted and not to approach him.  Any information about his whereabouts can be directed to Crime Stoppers.
