Pedestrian Killed by Car on Kingsway

A 49-year-old pedestrian has died in the 18th fatal collision in Vancouver this year. He was crossing the street from north to south in the 400 block of Kingsway at St.George Street, when he was struck by an eastbound driver in the curb lane.

The Vancouver man was taken to hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

This is the 10th fatal collision this year involving a pedestrian. Last year at this time, there were 25 fatal collisions, 14 of which were pedestrians.

The Vancouver Police Collision Investigation Unit is investigating.
