“Flying Lotus, for me, is like the Hendrix of his generation." - Mary Anne Hobbs/BBC Radio 1

With music ingrained in his bloodlines (his great aunt is Alice Coltrane and his grandmother wrote songs for Motown) it’s no wonder Flying Lotus (aka Fly Lo aka Steven Ellison) is being exalted as the latest musical genius. His second album, Los Angeles, performed a great leap forward in hip-hop comparable to that executed by DJ Shadow's landmark Endtroducing album of 1996.

Genre-defying, Flying Lotus has worked with artists, musicians, singers, MC’s around the globe including Thom Yorke (Radiohead), Lil Wayne, his cousin saxophonist Ravi Coltrane, Kayne West, Kode 9, Benga, Jaga Jazzist and Thundercat to name a few.

Expect dancefloor bangers, jazzy mood swings and the sound of music to come, when this forward thinking producer hits Vancouver on Wednesday!
