Junior Boys, Circle Square and sparklers at Venue Nightclub on Granville

Sparklers and music: such a primal combination.

My friends were already inside Venue Nightclub when I arrived so without too much hassle I was expedited to the front of the line. The opening act took the stage and rocked it with no introduction. Circle Square is an incredible live act (http://www.myspace.com/circlesquare.) This Berlin-based band emits an aura similar to Nine Inch Nails, Tool and Kraftwerk in the best way possible. I also hear a bit of Matthew Good Band circa 'Beautiful Midnight'. Images of seismographs and earthquakes on the dual synchronous screens massage our eyes and minds as Circle Square's emotionally advanced music hits a place deep in the hearts of the audience. During a tense musical climax several people from the audience light sparklers: What a sight! More than fifty people illuminate the room.

Next Junior Boys to take the stage. Everyone in our area is already dancing and most are smiling. A couple of guys tried to hit on my friends but with no success. Junior Boys sound as smooth, fun and funky as we predicted (http://www.myspace.com/juniorboys.) After performing a solid set, Junior Boys made a long and spectacular encore appearance. Needless to say we had a great time. Sandra said "Worth every penny"; an epic celebration.
