Megamind vs Skyline

Conspiracy theory: if you look close enough at pretty much any two things, you can find some sort of connection: take the movies Megamind and Skyline.

One is animation, has an antagonist that's an angry blue alien that the cops have no chance of containing, is the story of a bad guy who goes good and ends up a reluctant hero and the only one who can save the world and win the girl in the end, and has lots and lots of explosions and buildings crumbling to the ground.

The other is CGI, has an antagonist that's an angry blue alien that the cops have no chance of containing, is the story of a good guy who goes bad and ends up a reluctant hero and the only one who can save the world and win the girl in the end, and had lot and lots of explosions and buildings crumbling to the ground.

Both films are a lot of fun: entertaining and exciting. All kidding aside, they're both worth a night out and the price of admission.

See, if you really, really try, it can be done.
Stay tuned next week as I attempt to compare The Social Network, and The Next Three Days.
