Cortes Island Forest petition to Darshan Sihota and Bruce Flatt crashes hours after press release

This morning the Cortes Island forest petition had topped 5,800 signatures and continued to steadily climb before the petition website went down at 11 a.m.

Also this morning, Wildstands issued a press release regarding the petition -- its delivery to Darshan Sihota of Island Timberlands and Bruce Flatt of Brookfield Asset Management is planned for this Thursday. It’s a curious coincidence.

Fortunately, the petition authors have secured over 5,800 of the signatures so the petition delivery can go forward. If the petition site does not go back up soon, a new petition will appear on an alternate site that has greater reliability and, hopefully, even broader scope.
