CTV’s Marke Driesschen Appearing as Special Guest at Urban Improv
Marke Driesschen is a household name to British Columbians as an award winning Weather Specialist; but what many don’t know about the familiar face, is that he's also a hilarious stand-up comedian.
Marke will be joining the Urban Improv, Vancouver’s hot comedy troupe that has packed houses in Kitsilano every Monday night for thirteen years, this upcoming Monday, December 13th. Marke will talk about aging, hockey, football and what he REALLY thinks about the weather!
Joining Marke onstage will be the host for the evening, Roman Danylo (CTV’s Comedy Inc.). You can also expect to see any of the regular performers from the troupe, including Diana Frances (Seven-time Canadian Comedy Award nominee), Ian Boothby (Head writer for Simpsons and Futurama comic books), Toby Berner (TCN’s Sucker Punch), Drew McCreadie (Canadian Comedy Award winner Best Male Improviser 2007), Pearce Visser (TCN’s Sucker Punch), Nathan Clark (Vancouver TheatreSports), Chris Casillan (CBC’s The Improv Comedy Games), Denise Jones (Vancouver TheatreSports), Michael Teigen (Tron Legacy), Taz Van Rassel (4 Time Canadian Comedy Award Nominee for Best Male Improviser), and many more.
Marke’s quick sense of humor and spot on insights into meteorology has made him the go to man for our forecasts twice daily on CTV BC. Marke is so natural at both his real life role of weathercaster and performaer, he has often been asked to play himself in major feature films, like 'Elektra' with Jennifer Garner. His other film roles include playing News Anchor, Reporter or Weatherman in feature films ‘Mr. Magoo’ (Leslie Nielsen, Kelly Lynch) ‘Final Destination 2’, ‘The Core’ (Aaron Eckhart, Hilary Swank), ‘The Tortured’ (Jesse Metcalfe, Erika Christensen) and ‘The Linda McCartney Story’ (Elizabeth Mitchell), just to name a few. He has alos had several roles on television shows, including ‘The Dead Zone’, ‘Smallville’ and ‘Millennium’.
Tickets for the upcoming show with Urban Improv are $5.00, and can be purchased at the door. Reservations are recommended and can be made in advance by calling 604-733-0330.
