Great stuff to do in Vancouver this weekend
(Page 4 of 6)
City of Singles | Book launch (Miraj’s pick)
Feb 14 | 6 PM | Portside Pub, 7 Alexander St
On this evening join the singletons for a special Valentine as local artist Jason Bryan releases his first novel, City of Singles! Jason's unique writing style was nourished by the sights and sounds of Gastown. The tale he spins could only originate from somewhere with the raw, sharp humanity found sheltered among these cobbled streets.
Come down to the Portside Pub and for a night of fine beverages and modern literature. Sales from this night will go towards the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation. Thanks Lorraine!
Peoples Prom 2013 (Kelly’s Pick)
Feb 14 | 8PM - 1AM | Ukrainian Hall | $10
THE PEOPLE'S PROM is the prom you never had in high school: it's a radical, community-oriented, anti-capitalist, queer, cross-dressing, gender bending, bike loving, slow dancing, big dress wearing, good time. It's annual, it's in East Van, and it's a fundraiser for creative resistance and direct action in BC... and apparently the best dance party you’ll ever make out at. ;)
You don't need a date for this dance party, just a good attitude and a prom outfit. (Dates are allowed but no costume = no entry!)
'LA SAINT VALENTIN ' (Evi’s Pick)
Feb14 | 8:30-11:30pm | The Waterfall Building | $50

World Community Film Festival (Kelly’s Pick)
Feb 15 - 17 | Varies | Langara College | $15 - $35
