Are you ready to be funkafied into the depths of the old-growth forest? Funk for trees is a Fundraiser party for the Ramshackle Pictures new documentary about the coastal forestry movement called“Heartwood:Forest Guardians of the Cortes Island”. They will kicking off the evening showing the trailor and the night will follow with some amazingly FUNKY beats. I LOVE me some classic funk, soul, ghetto funk, disco, hip-hop, reggae and a dash of funky and futuristic house. These flAvahs will be tasty my friends..Can I get a  Ouuuweee!?!  There better be some jerk chicken ready for me after all this dancing.

This is the the launch of the Screaming Weenie Cabaret Series, a series of community-building events featuring some of Vancouver's foremost established and emerging Queer writers and performing artists.

Confirmed acts: Playwright/actor Mark Bentley Cohen ("Bi, Hung, Fit...and Married") poet Antonette Rea, poet/playwright Lee Williams, musician Aaron Chan and the divine Symone. Plus a sneak preview of our March show "Unstuck." Hosted by the fantabulous Rebecca Whyman.
