If you weren't in Vancouver last weekend, you missed out. The Summer Live festival at Stanley Park was a huge success with great performances. Here's my personal favourite Dan Mangan singing his last song of the evening.
Having said that, you'll be able to catch a bunch of new festivals in town this weekend. Can summer never end?

The 3rd annual Energy Awareness Art Party includes a pedal powered sound system and an unforgettable outdoor dance party. Spend Saturday on the front lawn of the VAG with giant zero emissions kinetic sculptures including Daisy the solar-powered tricycle, Gramorail, the Mondo Spider, Prosthesis, and Titanoboa. Pedal power will be generated by 8 teams of “watt-riders” who will power the eight-hour event by pedalling with their back wheels resting on a spinning mini generator that is connected to the sound system.

This weekend Jericho Beach turns into the annual Vancouver Folk Festival with three days of performances on seven different stages. Artists include Jim Bryson and the Weakerthans, Dustin Bentall & Kendel Carson, Buck 65, Josh Ritter & The Royal City, and many more. The festival features dancers singers, bands, and performers of all kinds as well as vendor bazaar, food tents, and kid zone.
