Pillow Fight photo by Dustin Sacks

It's official: the winter hibernation is over...at least in Vancouver!  There are loads of events happening that will put spring in your step, from eco-films and pillow fights to art, design and music. Go solo or grab a couple friends to check out some culturally diverse, community building and engaging events.

The BEE list is curated by Lorien Henson (the Queen Bee) with help from Ajay Masala Puri (the Spicy Masala Bee) and Steve Williams (the Honey Bee)

Apr 2 | 3:00 - 3:30 PM | TBA (watch website) | FREE
The Masala Bee participated last year and had such a hoot! Seriously one of the funnest and craziest events of the year! No one knows why or for whom but only that it "just happens". The message goes to all the good vibe people you know. RAIN or SHINE.  There are a few ground rules:
1. "Don't talk about [Pillow] Fight Club!" (especially to news media and civic authorities)
2. Don't be in location until the exact minute. (set your watches)
3. Hide your pillows.
4. Rush in screaming "PILLOW FIIIIIIGHT!!!!!"
5. After 15mins of excruciating fun, leave.
6. Stay off the road and sidewalk. (don't make this a police issue)
7. Do NOT hit anyone with out a pillow!
8. "If this is your first [time] at [Pillow] Fight Club, you have to fight."

3.
The Living Expo

Mar 31 | 5 PM | Beaumont Studios | $10

The Living Expo is an evening of documentary films, guest speakers and local products and services. It features a showcase of three 20-minute films from The Story of Stuff series. A panel of local experts will offer Vancouver based solutions and answer questions about creating a more sustainable lifestyle. As well there are tables featuring local vendors with products and information that offer sustainable solutions to the problems highlighted by the films.
