BC Day long weekend offers excellent opportunity to visit local provincial parks

With an upcoming sun-kissed weekend reaching highs of 30 degrees, it's a perfect time to spend the BC Day long-weekend outdoors. Whether hiking, camping, or having a family picnic, there are many oppourtunities to celebrate BC by visiting a provincial park. BC Parks' online search engine allows you to sort through parks based on location, activity, or amenities.
Here are some family-choice sites to consider. (*All are dog-friendly.)

Cultus Lake Provincial Park- As one of the most popular local destinations, Cultus Lake offers hiking, fishing, camping, golf courses, go-karts, canoes, boat and jetski rentals, miniature golf, and its famous waterpark.
Golden Ears Provincial Park- Known for its vastness, Golden Ears has an widespread series of trails for hiking and horseback riding. Alouette Lake is also a popular location for water activities such fishing, swimming, and water sports.
Sasquatch Provincial Park- For those looking to get a little closer to the water, Sasquatch park offers visitors a extensive system of blue lakes and scenic mountain ridges. Good for kayak, canoe, motor-boating as well as fishing.
