Award-winning journalist and author Chris Hedges will speak in Vancouver about his new book, Wages of Rebellion: the Moral Imperative for Revolt.

Hedges' speech is hosted by two local equality-seeking women’s groups: Vancouver Rape Relief and Women’s Shelter and the Asian women’s Coalition Ending Prostitution. Both groups have been at the forefront of the fight for women’s liberation locally and globally.

Hedges is a former New York Times war correspondent, covering conflicts in Bosnia, Iraq and El Salvador, and a minister within the Presbytarian Church. His books deal with topics including war, exploitation of the working class by corporations, and human rights.

Hedges’ speak will take place on Friday, September 25 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Wesley United Church in Vancouver.
