Heaven is for Real: Lexington Models' Alexander von Kaldenberg

Alexander von Kaldenberg has perfectly sculpted cheekbones and the body of a god, but he's deeply thoughtful as well, the Vancouver Observer discovered during an exclusive interview with the hometown hunk.

What's your most embarrassing childhood memory?

"It's a classic example. In grade 12, I was in the school play, and I completely forgot my lines. I completely blanked. For those few minutes, time just stood still."

Are you single?

"No, I'm with an amazing woman and can't imagine being any more in love."

What do you think about the state of the world?

"The state of our world is no better or worse now than it ever was, or will be. There will always be reasons for us to be sad, apathetic or angry. I think we should all be thankful for our lives and the opportunities that we have been given and make for ourselves. To quote one of my best friends Jian, "Light see's Light." I know it's easier said than done, but there is also a quote by Calvin Coolidge called "Persistence" that helps keep me on track."

What's your favourite bar in Vancouver?

"I don't really have one. A great night out would probably start with a sushi dinner (Hapa Umi for the best sushi in Vancouver), then a crawl (not literally) through Gastown for drinks and maybe visiting friends somewhere on Granville. Somehow, regardless of where I start my night, we always end up at the Yaletown Brew Pub trying to figure out "The Riddler's" riddle before wrapping things up at 33 Smithe (home)."

Where/how can people get in touch with you? "I love coffee, people and reading, so, naturally, I love coffee shops. When I move, the first thing I do is find a coffee shop with the best atmosphere and coffee. In Yaletown that's Sciue, in Kerrisdale that's Artigiano and in Toronto that's Aroma."
