Thierry's desserts hit the sweet spot

Thierry Patisserie is that rare breed of dessert cafes: it's open early in the morning (7 a.m.) for those in need of a pick-me-up before work and stays open very late (midnight) for people in search of a late after-movie dessert.

The elegant cafe has an amazing vibe at any time of the day. It offers a wide assortment of chocolate, macarons, pastries, liquid chocolate and decadent cakes. In addition, Thierry Patisserie has a liquor licence so you can enjoy some red or white with your dessert.

The place is famous for its colourful macarons, ranging in flavour from gingerbread, cranberry, lime, lemon, hazelnut and pistachio among others. This iconic confection has the perfect crunch and melts right into your mouth.

For those more interested in the cakes, I would recommend the Tiramisu, Passionfruit Mousse, or the Black Forest Cake. Those desserts offer Thierry's own twist to the classical dessert.

Thierry Patisserie is located 1059 Alberni Street (Thurlow/Burrard) and is open every day including holidays until midnight.

Mmmmm... Looks good.  I'll have to try the tiramisu.

This place is the shiz for cheap lingerers like me.  The place is full of rich peeps who only take a bite of their tiny $9 desserts and leave.  That's where I swoop in and feast on the remains, of course very subtly and tastefully.  Free-loaders like me do have to fit in.
