Former NHL player Wade Belak, 35,  was found dead in downtown Toronto today. Foul play has been ruled out. After Derek Boogard and Rick Rypien, he is the third enforcer to die in the past four months.

Belak, who had homes in B.C. and Nashville, was in Toronto to film the third season of Battle of the Blades, the reality show which begins Sept. 18. He leaves behind a wife and two young children.

The death is leading many in the hockey league to question as to whether fighting and head injuries has contributed to their death. Read more about the possible role of concussions in depression in this previous article about Rick Rypien's death from earlier this month.
