Here's my Masala Mix top three events not to miss this weekend:

1. FUSE [Performance | Music | Art]
Fri, June 11 6pm-Midnight @ Vancouver Art Gallery
FREE for members, $20 online

This season's theme is Girls! Girls! Girls! From drag queens to ballet dancers to a noise band, girls bring it home. See performances by Ballet BC, her jazz noise collective, Coral Short's Moustache Factory (feat. my very good friend Joanie Gyoza)+ much more.

2. Sawan Mela + Bollywood Under the Stars
Sat Jun 12th 2pm-Midnight + Sun Jun 13th Noon-6pm
@ Stanley Park, Lumberman's Arch. FREE [facebook]

The South Asian Family Association + my good friend Nina Sohi-Brar w/ Gemini Events puts on this colorful cultural extravaganza. 15,000 people came last year + with the weather predictions it should be hot + sunny weekend. Also what can get better than watching a Bollywood flick in an open park?

3. 18th Vancouver International Storytelling Festival
Fri Jun 11th 8-10pm, Sat Jun 12th 10-10pm, Sun Jun 13th 2-4pm
@ Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Chinese Garden, 578 Carrall St
$15 + Sunday is FREE

One of the longest running and most recognized storytelling festivals in Canada will be an event not to miss. Thanks Naomi Steinberg + her Vancouver Society of Storytelling team as they are definitely a great group.
